Dr. Scott specializes in disease and surgery of the eye. His surgical interests include cataract surgery, implantable contact lenses and eyelid surgery. He is a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery and graduated from Midwestern University’s Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2002. Following medical school, he completed 2 years of general surgery residency at University of New Mexico and then 3 years of ophthalmology residency at Michigan State University – Detroit Osteopathic Ophthalmology Consortium where he also served as the chief resident.
Dr. Scott is proud to have been raised right here in Prescott as his father Dr. John Markham first started this practice over 30 years ago in downtown Prescott off of Cortez Street. After graduating from Prescott High School he earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology with honors from Arizona State University. Dr. Scott realized his surgical potential while working for the Lions Eye & Tissue Bank (which later became part of the Donor Network of Arizona, www.dnaz.org) where his responsibilities included surgical recovery of transplantable corneas. He performed these duties while attending ASU as well as medical school.
