Dr. Amit A. Sangave is a board-certified ophthalmologist and fellowship-trained vitreoretinal surgeon. He specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of retinal conditions, including diabetic eye disease, age-related macular degeneration, retinal tears, and retinal detachment. His surgical and procedural expertise includes intravitreal injections, retinal lasers, and vitrectomy procedures for vitreous hemorrhage, macular holes, epiretinal membranes, and retinal detachments. Dr. Sangave is known for his ethical, compassionate care and dedication to working closely with patients throughout their treatment journey.

Education and Medical Training

Originally from upstate New York, Dr. Sangave completed his undergraduate and medical education at the University of Rochester School of Medicine, where he also completed his ophthalmology residency. He then pursued a rigorous two-year fellowship in vitreoretinal surgery at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. His academic background reflects a deep commitment to excellence in both clinical care and research.

Dr. Sangave has contributed extensively to ophthalmic research and has been involved with several renowned institutions, including the National Eye Institute. He has authored numerous book chapters and peer-reviewed journal articles and continues to participate in clinical trials to remain at the forefront of innovation in retina care. Personal

Outside of medicine, Dr. Sangave enjoys an active lifestyle. He plays tennis, hikes, and skis, often spending time outdoors with his fiancé. Now based in Arizona, he looks forward to exploring the region and becoming an engaged member of the local community.
